Delivered across multiple separable portions, the refurbishment was carefully staged to allow works to proceed within an occupied facility.
Upgrades to the central building included improvements to the foyer, façade and shared spaces, alongside refurbishment of the commercial kitchen to enhance functionality and compliance. External works incorporated courtyard enhancements and new communal areas, including an outdoor cinema, supporting resident wellbeing.
Residential works extended across multiple wings, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and common areas. Sequencing was planned to maintain continued occupation, requiring temporary arrangements, access management and close coordination with facility operations.
Targeted modifications were introduced to improve functionality within the existing building, including conversion of underutilised spaces into additional bedrooms, ensuites and shared amenities.
Mechanical and electrical upgrades were integrated throughout, improving performance and supporting long-term operation of the facility.
Working within a live environment required ongoing coordination of access, services, safety and communication to ensure residents and staff could continue to use the facility safely throughout construction.
Operations were maintained throughout while the facility was progressively upgraded.
