Refurbishment of Block E and full re-roofing of Blocks E and H improved both the functionality of teaching spaces and the long-term durability of the buildings.
Internal works included reconfiguration of learning spaces through new partitions, ceilings, glazing, joinery and finishes, creating updated environments that better support teaching and day-to-day use.
These upgrades were supported by coordinated improvements to building services, including mechanical, electrical, fire, data and security systems, ensuring compliance and performance across the refurbished areas.
A major component of the works was the removal and replacement of existing roofing systems. This includes structural improvements and adjustments to roof gradients, enhancing weather performance, drainage and overall building resilience.
Working within an operational school required disciplined staging and strict site controls to maintain safety for students and staff. Access, deliveries and construction activities were carefully managed to ensure the school continued to function throughout the works.
High-impact activities were scheduled within school holiday shutdown periods, allowing critical works to be completed without disruption to teaching. This approach was supported by detailed programme planning, including short-term lookahead scheduling and regular coordination with the College and Brisbane Catholic Education.
Weather conditions required ongoing adjustment to sequencing, particularly across roofing works, reinforcing the need for flexibility and proactive programme management.
Delivery was managed around the operational needs of the school, maintaining safety, access and continuity throughout construction.
